Are you tough enough to wear pink?
You can find out at the 2007 Greenbush Rodeo
being held July 4-5 at Wojo’s Arena.
This year, the annual rodeo is teaming up
with Wrangler® in the fight against breast
cancer through its “Tough Enough to Wear
Pink” campaign.
In addition to the traditional rodeo events,
there are some special activities planned to
raise funds for the newly established “Think
Pink Breast Cancer Fund” at LifeCare Medical
Center in Roseau.
Kicking things off the fun on Friday, July
4th is a benefit breakfast from 7:00 to
10:00 a.m. at Wojo’s Arena, followed up with
a trail ride to the Greenbush 4th of July
parade.
Rodeo action begins at 2:00 p.m. with Ranch
Rodeo activities starting at 5:00 p.m. The
evening brings more entertainment with a DJ
and karaoke at 9:00 p.m.
“You’ll have so much fun, you’ll want to do
it all over again,” Dana says. “And you can
on Saturday.”
Day 2 of the event carries a similar
schedule beginning with a breakfast at the
Greenbush Fire Hall and sponsored by the |

Greenbush Rescue Squad.
Participants and spectators alike are
encouraged to wear pink throughout the
two-day event to help support the awareness
of breast cancer.
“We want to see all our rodeo riders wearing
pink at this year’s event,”
she says. “That goes for moms, dads, and
kids too because the impact of breast cancer
affects the entire family.”
A complete line of “Tough Enough” apparel is
available for purchase at LifeCare Medical
Center and at the rodeo.

Fifth
Annual "May Walk/Run for
Diabetes" raises over $5,000 |
The annual LifeCare May Walk/Run for Diabetes raised
over $5,000 and drew more than 250 participants on
Saturday, May 3rd, making it the most successful
turnout in the event’s five-year history.
With all proceeds going to local diabetes efforts,
coordinators of the event couldn’t be happier.
“Our goal is to remind everyone how serious diabetes
is and how it impacts our area,” says LifeCare
Senior Leader Deb Haugen. “The event educates and
encourages all of us to make healthy choices about
diet, exercise, and personal care.”
LifeCare Medical Center covered most of the event’s
expenses so that 100% of dollars raised could be
donated to l |
local
diabetes efforts including the Roseau Area Diabetes
Center, the American Diabetes Association, and the
LifeCare Health Care Fund Eagles Auxiliary Diabetes
Fund.
Each participant received a free brightly colored
T-shirt courtesy of LifeCare Medical Center and
qualified for one of the many prizes given away.
Haugen says the event continues to grow in
popularity.
“We’ve seen more and more people interested in
participating in the May Walk/Run every year,” she
says. “Some have already marked their calendar for
next year.”
The event is the first Saturday in May.
